CLA Online Academy – Winter Session

Christian Leadership Allaince

The CLA Online Academy is an excellent way to invest in your leadership skills early in the new year. The WINTER Term begins on January 19, 2015. Registration for this session closes on January 12, 2015.

This Winter, CLA is pleased to introduce the NEW CCNL2 Stewardship Module. This module is mandatory for all those working on the CCNL and is also highly recommended for anyone seeking a senior leadership perspective on Finance, Tax & Legal and People Management & Care. CLA is also introducing another new module this quarter, Mentoring Emerging Leaders. This module is also highly recommended for anyone interested in participating in the CLA Outcomes Mentoring Network.

Module Facilitator – Vonna Laue

Vonna Laue serves as the West Regional Director for Capin Crouse, a CPA firm serving not-for-profit entities through audit, review, tax and advisory services. Vonna earned her B.S.  degree from Black Hills State University and her MBA degree in Leadership and Human Resource Management from the University of Colorado. She has served local organizations in a variety of positions, and has published articles in national church business administration publications as well as co-authored the book, Essential Guide to Church Finance.

Module Facilitator – Randal G. Dick

Randal Dick is the Founder of Profit Environment LLC and a Special Assignment Consultant with Design Group International™ where he helps a wide variety of business and Christian leaders overcome challenges and maximize success. Randal is a graduate of The Governance Academy and has been personally trained by John and Miriam Carver, two of the world’s leading authorities on corporate and nonprofit governance.

Module Facilitator – Mark L. Vincent

Mark L. Vincent is CEO of Design Group International, an organizational development company he co-founded in 2001 to help organizations and their leaders discover clarity and implement solutions. Out of a successful career in pastoral ministry, project management and leadership development, Mark co-founded Design Group International, a firm that helps organizations and their leaders discover clarity and implement solutions.

NEW – Mentoring Emerging Leaders

Liz Selzer, Ph. D. MA., M.Div

Liz is the President and CEO of The Mentor Leadership Team. She has worked with mentoring programs for more than 13 years and on 6 continents. She conducted training and consulting for the implementation of mentoring in organizations such as NASA, ConocoPhillips, Compassion International, YUM! Foods (Taco Bell, Pizza Hut and KFC), Good Samaritan Hospitals, Christian Leadership Alliance, and the Network of International Christian Schools.

Protecting Your Ministry’s Finances

Module Facilitator – Rachel McMichael

As a manager, Rachel is responsible for providing supervision and guidance to the senior staff and senior associates during the attestation and audit engagement process. She works closely with our clients and often functions as the primary contact to assist clients in getting their day-to-day accounting questions answered. In addition to her audit responsibilities, Rachel also oversees the Southeast tax practice. Rachel joined CapinCrouse in 2004, after graduating from Shorter University.

Internet Evangelism Strategies For Organizational Leaders

Module Facilitator – John Edmiston

John Edmiston is the CEO of Cybermissions and was converted in May 1978 at the age of 21, going into bible college, seminary and ministry from 1981 onward. He has degrees from the University of Queensland, the Baptist Theological College of Queensland and the Melbourne College of Divinity (all in Australia) and has lectured at a number of bible colleges and major seminaries during his over 30 years in ministry.

Cathie is a managing owner and the CEO of Alston-Kline, Inc., an organizational development consulting firm, since 1988. Prior to leading Alston-Kline, Inc., Cathie was the Director of Employment at World Vision, Inc., a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities in over 100 countries, a VP of Human Resources at Pacenet/Satellite Business Systems a satellite communications corporation, Director of Human Resources in retail, and a News Producer in broadcasting.

J. Paul Fridenmaker

J. Paul Fridenmaker is a proven leader in major donor fundraising efforts. Since 1996 he has partnered and consulted with a variety of non-profit organizations. His work with higher education initiatives, humanitarian aid projects, and business development includes extensive travel throughout the US and more than 40 countries. Most recently J. Paul was a member of the Executive Leadership Team of Mars Hill Graduate School where he held the role of Chief Development Officer & Director of Alumni Relations.
