The Power of Scripture in All Situations
Scripture is a wonderful light that God shines into our lives to teach, convict, comfort, and reveal Himself to us. As leaders, we need to anchor ourselves to Scripture as we navigate the inevitable storms that come our way. Scripture is truly alive and perfectly draws us closer to the only source of truth we can always rely on. I want to share with you two of the truths that have helped anchor me.
God is Clear
The first is that God does what He says He will do. Numbers 23:19 makes it clear that God is not like man; God does not lie, and He will accomplish what His words say He will accomplish. His words are irrevocable and true. This does not mean I always understand His ways or His words, but I can trust that He is faithful to His promises.
God is With Us
Secondly, He is with us in our storms and can calm the seas around us. Mark 4:35-41 tells us about the time when Jesus was asleep in a boat with his disciples as a storm raged around them. When Jesus was awakened by His frightened followers, He said, “Quiet! Be still!” and the storm died down. One of the wonderful lights God shines into our lives is the comfort that He is with us today as we are buffeted by the winds and storms confronting our lives, leadership, and organizations.
Think of the storms raging around you. I encourage you to ask the Lord to speak those wonderful words, “Quiet! Be still!” He does not lie, and He will accomplish what He says.
