Module Overview

This course is designed to help the participant learn what is needed to develop the heart, head, hands, and habits of a great leader with Jesus as the model. The readings, videos, and other materials are designed to help the participant uncover what might be keeping him/her from realizing full leadership potential while helping develop those skills and habits needed to become a leader who leads like Jesus. Like Jesus' definition of leadership says, "anytime you influence the thinking, behavior or development of another person, you are engaging in leadership." So whether you are a stay-at-home parent, a teacher, a CEO, an administrative professional, an electrician, a nurse, a coach, or a church leader, you are influencing the lives of others, and that makes YOU a leader!   Highly recommended for leaders at every level across an organization.   The course is an elective for the Credentialed Christian Nonprofit Leader (CCNL) Program. It earns 20 CCNL elective points.

Requirements for Receiving Credit

Credit for the course will be determined on the following criteria:
  1. Successful completion and submission of five Reflection assignments demonstrating that the participant has read required resources and reviewed the presentation content.
  2. Engage in all topic forum discussions for all five sessions.

Facilitator Bio

Tami Heim, CCNL - President & CEO
Tami Heim has been the president and CEO of Christian Leadership Alliance since January 2012. Her professional career includes executive leadership experience in technology, marketing, publishing, and retail. She has served as a partner in The A Group – Brand Development, executive vice president and chief publishing officer for Thomas Nelson Publishers, and as the president of Borders, Inc. After graduating from Purdue University, she entered the management training program at Federated Department Stores and continued to serve in various leadership roles until she left in 1996. At the time of her departure, she was responsible for the operations of the LAZARUS and Goldsmith’s chains. Tami was certified in for-profit board governance through The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Her nonprofit board experience includes serving on the boards of EQUIP, Lead Like Jesus, Christian Alliance for Orphans, and Growing Leaders. Christianity Today, and Christian Leadership Alliance.  She completed the Christian Credentialed Nonprofit Leader  (CCNL) program in 2013 and now facilitates the online CCNL-Leadership Course for the Alliance. Tami and her husband, Dale, delight in their family and are actively involved in ministry at Long Hollow Church. Since 2010, they have been leading mission teams to Haiti.  In 2014, they adopted their youngest daughter from that country. Tami welcomes the opportunity to share more about the Christian Leadership Alliance and its vision for the future!
