Personal Leadership (Ministry)

About

Margaret Fitzwater serves on the National Leadership Team of the Navigators and is the Executive Director of Train–Develop–Care (TDC). She has a long career in Christian ministries and at The Navigators alongside her late husband, Roy (God changed His address through cancer, Oct. 30, 2021).

Before joining the Navigators, Margaret spent ten years in senior leadership in a Fortune 100 company. During that time, she served on two Boards of Directors for Christian ministries. In 1994, Margaret and Roy left their corporate careers, following a clear call from Jesus. They moved from Texas to Colorado, where they helped found and lead SonScape Re-Creation Ministries, helping pastors and missionaries prevent burnout through spiritual formation retreats. In 2005, they joined Navigator staff to serve in Navigators Church Ministries (NCM) for over a decade, serving as Co-Directors starting in 2011.

Margaret graduated from Baylor with a degree in biology/sociology. She then went to Texas A&M, receiving a Master of Science in food science and an MBA in marketing/entrepreneurship at SMU in Dallas. Her life verse is John 10:10b, “I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.”   She wants all that life and loves to come alongside others to help them walk closer to Jesus and have more energy! Margaret loves the outdoors, especially enjoying God’s creative beauty, and likes to play various sports. She is a major foodie and also loves to read and play games. Her love language, though, is the beach!
