Reverend Cynthia Berry is a native Californian and is the proud mother of two young adults, Brooke and Sizwe. Her son Sizwe lives with Pervasive Development Disorder on the Autism Spectrum.
Peverend Cynthia received a Master of Theology in Ministry with emphasis in youth and family culture from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. She is an ordained minister with the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel. She received her Mental Health Coaching Certificate from the American Association of Christian Counselors and is a Credentialed Christian Nonprofit Leader through the Christian Leadership Alliance organization.
She is a dynamic, itinerant preacher and speaker who has inspired intergenerational, diverse audiences both domestically and internationally. Her travels include Southern Ireland, Prague, the Czech Republic, London, and England. She provided missionary outreach and training in conjunction with various ministries in Peru (Lima and Arequipa), Haiti (Port-au-Prince), and Guyana.
For more than thirty years, Reverend Cynthia worked in the nonprofit sector, serving with the Breese Youth Center, World Impact, Rescue Mission Alliance, Prison Fellowship, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Synod, and the New City Parish Network of Churches in Inglewood, California.
For the past 18 years, she has been employed with Joni and Friends International Disability Center in Agoura Hills, California, and has worked in various capacities. Currently, she serves as the Director of Spiritual Formation and Care. In her association with Joni and Friends, she has served alongside founder Joni Eareckson Tada in various media, including radio broadcasts, podcasts, and television. She has been a returning guest on the International Radio Program, “Discoveries in Prayer.”
Reverend Cynthia’s passion is intercessory prayer and exploring solutions to the challenges associated with young men and women who are emancipated and annually transitioning from the foster care system.
