Course Descriptions
A Thriving Leader course will be offered each term on the Outcome Academy. It is an exclusive program for Alliance members. The registration fee is $397 per course. This series of courses is an exclusive offering for Alliance members. The Thriving Leader Series will include these five, 10-week online courses:
TLS 101 The Thriving Leader | Spiritual Formation
The first course in The Thriving Leader series focuses on establishing the foundations of spiritual formation. You learn how these principles and practices influence your thinking, behavior, and development, as well as the development of other Christians called to serve. It begins with knowing God, understanding self, valuing relationships, embracing resiliency, and building a construct that leads to thriving.
TLS 102 The Thriving Leader | Heart of the Leader
Transformational leadership begins on the inside. This 10-week course intentionally focuses on a leader’s heart motivation, our “why” first. Defining our “why” is not easy. It requires soul searching, understanding one’s core life values, and a desire for a destination that’s much more than pure profit or personal success. This course explores critical questions every leader must answer, the differences between a spiritually healthy and an unhealthy heart, and how understanding and embracing our identity and accurate self-awareness will make us much more effective influencers.
TLS 103 The Thriving Leader | The Journey to Thriving
This course is an in-depth review of core spiritual disciplines and how they cultivate thriving. This course helps you enter into applications that foster a strong connection with God’s presence and discern his will for your life and ministry. Each session includes a Journey to Thriving story from leaders who have been on the journey and have discovered the practices that keep them centered on God’s will and purpose.
TLS 104 The Thriving Leader | Leading Like Jesus
This Leading Like Jesus course teaches what is needed to develop your leader’s heart, head, hands, and habits, with Jesus as the model. The readings, videos, and other materials are designed to uncover what might keep you from realizing your full leadership potential and to help you develop the skills and habits needed to become a leader who leads like Jesus.
TLS 105 The Thriving Leader | Leadership from the Shepherd’s Perspective
Leadership from the Shepherd’s Perspective explores the biblical concept of shepherd leadership and the belief that the timeless shepherd model applies—just as God’s Word—everywhere one influences and impacts others. The shepherd leadership principle is grounded in the three pivotal elements of provision, protection, and presence. You will discover a shepherd’s responsibilities for leading literal sheep during this course. The cohort will also examine personal leadership experiences, use Scripture to translate biblical principles into immediately applicable and practical behaviors, and create a customized Shepherd’s Operating Manual.
Completion and Putting It To Work
After completing the five courses, you will gain access to a one-session course on developing a Rule of Life Plan document. This process will help fully integrate the content of the five courses into your everyday life.
Once the Rule of Life Plan is complete and approved by the Course Administrator, a mentor will be assigned as a wise guide and an accountability partner for one year. Meeting once a month is a valuable opportunity to review the Rule of Life Plan, focus on its practical applications, and adjust as needed to strengthen resolve and commitment.
