Get to know Mindy Caliguire, CEO of Soul Care.

Christian Leadership Alliance welcomes Mindy Caliguire to the Outcomes Conference 2026 main stage. She will lead us into a day where we will look to the future. Mindy will provide wise instruction on how to embrace the future from living in today in a place of thriving.

Mindy’s Journey

Mindy Caliguire first encountered the power of a community of faith during her sophomore year at Cornell University. It happened while attending a Bible study at a frat house. In addition to her new appreciation for the Christian faith, Mindy married Jeff Caliguire, the leader of that Bible study.

After graduation, the Caliguires moved to Texas, where Jeff attended Dallas Theological Seminary, and Mindy worked in sales and marketing. In their ministry together, they took internships at Willow Creek Community Church, a megachurch based outside Chicago.

In 1991, the Caliguires started a church plant in Boston. After such a busy season of life, including painful setbacks, Mindy discovered that her ministry had become lifeless. Her emptiness came to a head when, for two entire months, she lay in bed suffering from severe vertigo.

During this forced period of rest from responsibilities, Mindy began to recognize the dysfunction she had accepted as her reality. As Mindy sought a path through her desperation, she recalled the words of John 15. In verse 5, Jesus directly admonished his disciples: “Apart from me, you can do nothing.” Mindy says God seemed to ask her, “What part of nothing do you not understand?”

As Mindy began to experience her relationship with God in a new way. Close friends and Christian authors led her onto the road of soul restoration. Journaling, reading “soul books,” connecting in authentic relationships, and taking time away became life-giving practices. Each onebecame integral to Mindy’s life as she found restoration, renewal, and refreshment for her own soul. In 1998, she combined her newfound passion for ministry with her background in sales and marketing. Mindy began Soul Care, a spiritual formation ministry.

Then the Caliguires were drawn back to Chicago for a staff position at Willow Creek. The focus was spiritual formation, prayer, and membership. Mindy assisted with retreats, events, and leadership development.

Today, Mindy Caliguire is the co-founder and president of Soul Care. The ministry cultivates soul health among leaders. It provides the pathways, practices, and guides that lead to personal flourishing and achieve missional impact.

Ignite Your Soul

In December 2021, Mindy and her husband, Jeff, bore witness to awildfire’ss relentless advance on their Colorado property. It was a place dedicated to spiritual rest and retreat. The devastation of that fire underscored the realization that mirrored the parched reality of manypeople’ss souls. So many people are exhausted and overwhelmed, and we feel alone, silently struggling with addiction, busyness, distractions, fear, and apathy. 

Mindy’s most recent book, Ignite Your Soul: When Exhaustion, Isolation, and Burnout Light a Pathto Flourishing, documents her journey.

This book walks through the reality of pre-burnout to destruction and the path to healing. You’ll learn how it is possible to walk out of your own ashes and into thriving, no matter what. This book is a lifeline to help you restore your spiritual, emotional, and mental well-being within the​ communities of life.

Here you will explore the six key practices that lead to whole-self flourishing: attention, participation, delight, humility, silence, and rest.

Founded by Mindy Caliguire, Soul Care emerged not from strategy, but from necessity. In 1995, Mindy’s body shut down after years of overwork, hidden exhaustion, and spiritual depletion while church planting in Boston. That physical collapse revealed a deeper truth: her soul was on fire, brittle and dry.
