Better By Afflictions By Dr. Bob Snyder

Back to Blog

Finding God in Our Affiliations

How is it possible that afflictions can be good for me?

“Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I obey your word.”

Psalm 119:67, NIV

My suffering was good for me, for it taught me to pay attention to your decrees.”

Psalm 119:71 , NLT

The psalmist suggests that difficulties in my life help me focus on God and His Word. The challenges I encounter in life present me with two choices: be bitter or be better.

God reaches out to me in my affliction and offers me hope. As I cling to Him, my perspective shifts, my heart is softened, and I become better.

Will you join me this week in offering ourselves and our afflictions to the Great Comforter?

Sharing the journey with you.
