Resolutions or Promises? By Dr. Bob Snyder

Will It Be New Year Resolutions or Standing on Promises?
I used to make New Year’s resolutions, but by mid-January, I would be wallowing in failure. Positive change is good, but it is challenging. I have realized that striving for change in my strength is futile.
This year, I made no resolutions. Instead, I choose to look toward the Lord and seek His strength, not mine. I am trusting God in the new year and standing on His promises.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
Instead of making resolutions this year, I am choosing to stand on God’s promises, made possible by the work of the Holy Spirit in me and His mercy toward me. I will seek him wholeheartedly and trust him in all things.
Standing on the promises I cannot fall,
Listening every moment to the Spirit’s call
Resting in my Savior as my all in all,
Standing on the promises of God.
Will you join me in standing on the promises of God as this new year begins?
Sharing the journey with you!
