David Robbins: Outcomes Conference 25 Highlight

David Robbins, Leadership for Such a Time as This

David Robbins became president of Campus Crusade for Christ International and Cru in July 2024. He previously served as the president of FamilyLife, a Cru ministry. Robbins, 46, becomes the fourth president of this evangelism and discipleship ministry based in Orlando, FL.

We are honored to have him take the Mainstage at the Outcomes Conference 2025.

The Path of Preparation

David joined the Cru staff in 2000. He worked with university students at various universities in the United States and Pisa, Italy. He served as a team leader and later as a Regional Director of U.S. Campus Field Ministries, overseeing campus ministries across the Southeast region of the U.S.

He and his wife, Meg, helped launch Cru’s ministry to millennials in the multicultural setting of New York City in 2012. This strategy ministered to 20-somethings and worked with and through partnerships in the body of Christ. It grew to a network and spread nationwide, establishing teams in 15 other cities across the U.S., and was adopted by other nations.

David became president of FamilyLife in December 2017, building on the ministry’s four-decade foundation. He and Meg led the way to reach new generations of families and empowered them to win, make, and send through movements in the family space.

David received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Mississippi. He and Meg married in 2001 and live with their four children in Orlando, Florida.

The Heart of the Leader

There are two ways we encourage you to learn more about David. Each one will help you better understand the road that God used to prepare him for this significant kingdom assignment.

(1) Christ in us: When You Are Wondering, “Can God Really Use Me?”

We encourage you to watch this nine-minute presentation; we are confident God will use it to inspire you! Here is an excerpt from his video:

“Seven words that are simple, powerful, life-changing, and I’m convinced if we get our arms around them, and our head around them, and our heart around them, in an increasing way, it will continually revolutionize how we live out what we’re created to do.

These seven words come from Colossians 1:27, “Christ in you, the hope of glory” – “Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

We are created – you and me – to experience Christ in us, our hope in everyday living. And as we do that we’re called to express and show and tell, of this hope that we have to the world around us. Paul talks about this in Colossians 1– let’s read 26 and 27, “The mystery hidden for ages and generations, God’s unfolding plan for the world and we know it now it’s not hidden anymore because it’s been revealed to the saints. To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles by the riches of the glory of this mystery, this mystery which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” “

(2) Taking Risks to Build Community and Step Into Your Calling

If you love podcasts, then enjoy this Cru podcast featuring David. Wisdom abounds in this session! Here is just one nugget of truth!

“When you get to give people glimpses of glory because you are walking squarely and where God has you and what you’re created for, it usually means there is an ongoing, continual surrender that is happening in our lives. And it’s not a past surrender that we live off of; it’s an ongoing continual surrender. And that’s been true for us and I see that happen all the time in people’s lives.”

A Special Invitation for You!

We hope to see you in Dallas from April 29 to May 1, 2025.
