I grew up poor and was brought up to be very frugal.

I worked my way through university and seminary, skimping in food and clothes.

Those habits became very ingrained in my life.

Now that I’m a bit more financially secure, I’m trying to unlearn those habits and learning to be more generous.

• Generous with my time.
• Generous with my attention on others.
• Generous with my resources.

And it feels good to be a giver, to live a life of generosity.

I still have a long ways to go on learning to be generous.

But now as a leader, I’m finding how in the workplace, people respond to generosity.  If you’re not naturally a generous leader, try it.

Give things away.  Finances, control, time, attention, gifts.  You’ll be amazed at the response.

Jesus said:  When you give, you will also get.  Your gift will return to you in full and overflowing measure.
