God’s Vision of His Church with Dr. Derwin L. Gray

God’s “Revelation 7:9″ Vision of His Church

In this episode from The Outcomes Conference 2018,  Dr. Derwin L. Gray begins with the Gospel as a framework that leads to God’s “Revelation 7:9″  vision of his Church.

After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. – Revelation 7:9

Speaking with candor and passion, Dr. Gray calls out the destructive impact of homogeneity. He makes clear the incredible, detrimental and sociological applications of it when the people of God choose to live in highly segregated communities. The consequence and behaviors that follow leave those outside the Church with no compelling reason to become part of it. It is painfully evident how we’ve missed our witness and God’s best plan by failing to live as an integrated family of believers, clothed in Christ.

Dr. Gray prescribes what is necessary for leaders to be the change in their organizations and accelerate integration. He offers seven principles with a rich narrative to spur you into action.

The seven principles are listed below. But we encourage you to fully engage. Click on the image of Dr. Gray and listen to this 50-minute presentation as seen on CLATV. Lean in, take notes and consider how, as a leader, you will apply what you’ve heard.

Seven Leadership Principles for Change

  1. Develop a Gospel ethos.
  2. Develop a diverse leadership team.
  3. Develop cross-cultural competencies.
  4. Develop diverse musical genres for corporate gatherings.
  5. Develop a leadership pipeline that focuses on both competency and character.
  6. Develop thick skin, a soft heart, and a theologically sharp mind.
  7. Develop a powerful prayer life.
