Give Thanks to The One Who Is Worthy By Tami Heim

Will you choose this day to give thanks and praise to God?

Each morning I give thanks that God is God. I know he sees all, knows all, and is in control of all things. Regardless of what is happening around the world, I have faith and hope because I believe his promises are true. His steadfast love through the ages is well documented and, in my life, I find him staggeringly lavish in every way.

As Christian leaders, we must daily embrace our call to share the good news while serving and leading others according to God’s good, pleasing and perfect will. We can only imagine the kingdom impact if all God’s people were leading and influencing others from the center of his perfect will.

Jesus flawlessly modeled God-contentedness for us in everything he said and did. Paul later instructs us how to find it.

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” – Romans 12:1-2 NIV

No matter where we serve or what we have been called to steward, we rejoice in being part in his epic redemption story. As his bride, we offer praise and thanksgiving to the One Who makes all things possible. We press through our situations, feelings and obstacles to exalt God only. We fall to our knees in adoration because God is God, and God, God. He is worthy.

Charles Spurgeon wrote,

“Doth not all nature around me praise God? If I were silent, I should be an exception to the universe. Doth not the thunder praise to Him as it rolls like drums in the march of the God of armies? Do not the mountains praise Him when the woods upon their summits wave in adoration? Doth not the lightning writes His name in letters of fire? Hath not the whole earth a voice? And shall I, can I, silent be?”

I encourage you to take time today, to simply behold, God.

Meditate on Psalm 100. Let these words become your words.

I pray as you do, it will inspire a flow of fresh thanksgiving as you become fully present to the truth that God is God.

It will renew you and he will transform you.

On your feet now—applaud God!
    Bring a gift of laughter,
    sing yourselves into his presence.

Know this: God is God, and God, God.
He made us; we didn’t make him.
We’re his people, his well-tended sheep.

Enter with the password: “Thank you!”
Make yourselves at home, talking praise.
    Thank him. Worship him.

For God is sheer beauty,
    all-generous in love,
    loyal always and ever.

~ Psalm 100: 1-5, MSG
