Remembering Love on This Memorial Day

There is No Greater Love

It is Memorial Day 2020 and a time for us to remember the men and women who have demonstrated great love and loyalty to our country and its people. At 3:00 pm, in whatever time zone you are in, is the nationally appointed time to pause for a moment of remembrance.

We encourage you to honor that time with your friends and loved ones. Remember those you know who have died for our country and what their sacrifice has made possible for all of us. Give thanks to God for their lives and for the families they left behind. Take a moment to pray for all those who are manning their posts today, that God will keep them safe.

Scripture reminds us that when someone is willing to give his or her life, it demonstrates the greatest love of all. It reflects what Jesus did for us.

I’ve told you these things for a purpose: that my joy might be your joy, and your joy wholly mature. This is my command: Love one another the way I loved you. This is the very best way to love. Put your life on the line for your friends. You are my friends when you do the things I command you. I’m no longer calling you servants because servants don’t understand what their master is thinking and planning. No, I’ve named you friends because I’ve let you in on everything I’ve heard from the Father.
