Outcomes Conference 24 Highlight: Rev. Dr. Gabriel Salguero

Pastor Salguero Kicks Off the Outcomes Conference 2024

The Rev. Dr. Gabriel Salguero is the opening Mainstage keynote for the Outcomes Conference 2024. He is the lead pastor of The Gathering, a Latino-led multi-ethnic Assemblies of God congregation in Orlando, Florida. We are full of expectancy for his message and how God will use him to reveal God’s heart for this year’s annual event.

A Leader Among Leaders

God has entrusted Rev. Dr. Salguero to serve in many leadership capacities. Salguero is a powerful voice on issues affecting the nearly nine million Latino evangelicals in the United States. He has and continues to serve in positions of significant influence:

• President and founder of the National Latino Evangelical Coalition (NALEC), a coalition of several thousand evangelical congregations in the United States 
• Board Director for the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE)
• Member of the National Advisory Council of the My Brother’s Keeper Alliance
• Board Director of La Asociación Evangélica Latina (AEL), the coalition of Latin American evangelicals, is the representative body for all evangelical associations in Latin America. 
• Rev. Salguero served on the White House Faith-Based Advisory Council.
• Former Director of the Hispanic Leadership Program (HLP) and the Institute for Faith and Public Life at Princeton Theological Seminary. 

Pastor Salguero has written extensively on Latino evangelicalism, immigration, racism, and multicultural congregations. Salguero has been named as one of the nation’s most prominent Latino evangelical leaders by the New York Times, Huffington Post, the New York Observer, the Center for American Progress, El Diario, CNN Español, NBC Universal, Univisión, and Jorge Ramos’s Al Punto. 

The Discovery Channel and the Oprah Winfrey Network have featured his leadership on young male education and criminal justice reform.  

Salguero holds a BA in Spanish and History from Rutgers University, an M.Div (magna cum laude) from New Brunswick Theological Seminary, and a Doctorate in Divinity (honoris causa) from Eastern Nazarene College.

As the Lead Pastor of The Gathering, he serves with his wife, Rev. Jeanette Salguero. His wife shares his heart to minister to the body of Christ and is also a leader among leaders! They work in beautiful unison to create a bilingual experience that connects deeply with those they serve. You can watch how God uses them in their weekly services.

Deep Discipleship: Our proclamation of the Gospel should lead to deep Christ-like transformations through discipleship based on the Gospel, empowered by the Spirit, and rooted in community (Acts 2:41-47).

Boundary-Breaking Fellowship: At The Gathering Place, fellowship across differences is essential to our Gospel witness. The human need for fellowship and community is vital to our creation. The Gathering Place recognizes that our city is increasingly diverse and multi-ethnic. We seek to mirror the diversity of our town with a heart for justice and mercy. At the heart of the Gospel is a reconciled people from every tribe, nation, and tongue (Rev. 7:9). Our proclamation of Gospel unity is based on God’s love and justice for all humankind. 

Missional-minded: The Gathering Place is always planning and working toward reaching others locally and globally. In addition, we maintain a global vision supporting domestic and international missional and church-planting efforts (Mt 28:16).

Service: In all areas of our city, there is a need for ministries of compassion and justice. Our towns’ great cultural, economic, and racial diversity demands that The Gathering Place focus on a Gospel-centered response that leads to salvation and renewal with a heart for justice and mercy.
