God’s View of Justice and Righteousness

Justice is important. God commands it of me. But when I choose to uncouple justice from righteousness, I get myself into trouble. What is the result?   

…but let him who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord. Jeremiah 9:24 NIV 

Apart from God and His righteousness, my attempts at justice can sometimes lead to pride and idolatry. I am far too quick to say what I think is right. The better way is to listen to God and allow His truth to reveal what is just.
